Keep the floor you love. Plan what comes next.
Hardwood Floors by Mario is now based in Yelm. If your home is here, start with the floor you have, the rooms involved, and what you want to change. An assessment of the actual floor is more useful than deciding on replacement from a photograph alone.
Keep an existing floor when it makes sense
If the finish looks tired but you like the wood, explore hardwood floor refinishing. Previous sanding, the type of flooring, and the depth of wear all affect the options. A deep stain or thin wear layer may change the recommendation.
For split boards, loose sections, or damage around a doorway, look at repair & restoration before assuming a new finish will solve the problem. Tell Mario if a leak or another moisture issue has been involved.
Plan a new floor around adjoining spaces
With hardwood floor installation, discuss the subfloor and how the new floor will meet existing rooms, doorways, and other surfaces. Bring product information if you already have a material in mind. Our solid versus engineered wood guide offers useful questions before choosing.
Start your Yelm project
Send photographs of the full room and any affected boards, your property location, and your preferred timing. Ask about assessment arrangements and how the work could affect daily use of the home.
